Protocol-Agnostic

Protocol-Agnostic

Protocol-Agnostic means a system can integrate with devices regardless of their communication protocol-Modbus, OCPP, API, CAN, or proprietary formats. Protocol-agnostic VPP platforms normalize protocol diversity: whether you're controlling a Modbus-connected battery, an OCPP EV charger, or an API-based inverter, the optimization logic sees a unified abstraction (battery at 80% SOC, 10 kW available). Molecule's MOS 350 is protocol-agnostic, supporting 1000+ device makes and models without requiring OEM firmware changes or cloud API dependencies. Protocol-agnostic integration is critical for VPPs aggregating heterogeneous fleets (mixed brands, mixed protocols).

How Molecule Systems Relates

Protocol-agnostic integration is a core differentiator of the Molecule Systems platform. MOS 350 normalizes protocol diversity at the edge - whether a device speaks Modbus, OCPP, API, or CAN, the execution layer presents a unified abstraction to optimization logic. This means VPP operators can aggregate mixed-manufacturer, mixed-protocol fleets without custom integration for every device brand.
