IaaS

Infrastructure-as-a-Service

Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) is a business model where providers offer foundational infrastructure-compute, storage, networking-as a managed service rather than requiring customers to build and maintain it themselves. In VPP context, Molecule Systems provides execution infrastructure as a service: edge gateways, MOS 350 edge OS, real-time telemetry, deterministic dispatch, and protocol-agnostic integration. OEMs and fleet operators don't need to build execution infrastructure in-house-they subscribe to Molecule's IaaS platform and focus on their core business (hardware, customer relationships, market access). IaaS shifts capital expense (building infrastructure) to operational expense (subscription fees).

How Molecule Systems Relates

Molecule Systems' business model is Infrastructure-as-a-Service for VPP execution. OEMs and fleet operators subscribe to Molecule's platform rather than building execution infrastructure in-house. This IaaS approach shifts capital expenditure to operational expenditure and lets customers focus on their core business - hardware manufacturing, customer relationships, and market access - while Molecule handles the execution layer.
