Telemetry
Telemetry
Telemetry is real-time data reporting from devices or systems, transmitted remotely for monitoring, analysis, and verification. In VPP context, telemetry includes battery state-of-charge, power output, availability status, dispatch compliance, and grid connection status. Real-time telemetry (sub-second reporting) is critical for pay-for-performance programs: settlement systems require verified delivery data to compensate VPP participants. Most VPPs rely on utility meter data (24-hour delay), which is too slow for real-time verification. Molecule's MOS 350 gateways provide sub-second telemetry, enabling pay-for-performance settlement and live fleet visibility.
How Molecule Systems Relates
Sub-second telemetry is a core capability of MOS 350 edge gateways. While most VPPs depend on utility meter data with 24-hour delays, Molecule provides real-time telemetry at the edge - enabling live fleet visibility, pay-for-performance settlement verification, and the data resolution required for grid-grade VPP operations.
