What is AERA (Adaptive Energy Response Architecture)?
AERA (Adaptive Energy Response Architecture) is Molecule Systems' execution architecture that decouples control intelligence from deterministic asset operation. Under AERA, optimization logic-forecasting, dispatch algorithms, market bidding strategies-can come from anywhere: OEM cloud platforms, third-party aggregators, utility DERMS systems, or custom algorithms. But execution happens locally, at the edge, via MOS350 (Molecule's internal edge OS) running at each site. This separation ensures that even if cloud connectivity fails, dispatch logic continues executing. It also means optimization algorithms can be hot-swapped without downtime, device firmware updates, or site visits. AERA's principle: "Intelligence can come from anywhere. Execution has to be reliable." This architectural approach allows OEMs to keep building hardware, utilities to keep running optimization models, and Molecule to handle the deterministic execution that makes VPPs perform like power plants.
